Kitchen Remodeling for Richmond Homes
Richmond is a rural South County town along the Wood and Pawcatuck Rivers, with historic villages, farms and wooded neighborhoods.
Richmond homes include village houses in Wyoming and Carolina, rural Colonials, capes and ranches, and newer homes on large lots. Expanding kitchens and garages is common.
Almost all properties rely on private wells and septic systems, which must be considered when adding bathrooms or expanding living space.
Permits & Local Rules in Richmond
- Building permits in Richmond are issued by the town's building official under the Rhode Island State Building Code — we prepare the applications and schedule every inspection.
- Homes built before 1978 may contain lead paint, so renovation that disturbs painted surfaces follows Rhode Island and EPA lead-safe work practices.
