Kitchen Remodeling for Smithfield Homes
Smithfield is a suburban town in northern Rhode Island known for its orchards, lakes and established neighborhoods.
Smithfield includes 1950s–80s ranches, raised ranches and Colonials, mill-village homes in Georgiaville and Esmond, and lakefront homes. Open kitchens, primary bath upgrades and garage improvements are common projects.
Lakefront properties and homes on well and septic need careful planning, and many mid-century homes need exterior and mechanical updates.
Permits & Local Rules in Smithfield
- Building permits in Smithfield are issued by the town's building official under the Rhode Island State Building Code — we prepare the applications and schedule every inspection.
- Homes built before 1978 may contain lead paint, so renovation that disturbs painted surfaces follows Rhode Island and EPA lead-safe work practices.
